Creatine in the GAA - Opinions
  • AnCadhanach December 2011
    A chairde,

I'm currently conducting an undergraduate research project on the use of creatine in the GAA. I basically want to study the attitudes towards creatine within the GAA. From this forum I'd just like to get a feel for what opinions are out there. How do you feel about GAA players using creatine? Is it a positive part of a GAA player's diet? Or should it be banned by the GAA?

Also, those of you who believe creatine should be banned - what reasons do you have for that? Do you believe it provides an unfair advantage to players? Or would you be more concerned about player welfare and the possible side effects of creatine?

I'd be grateful for any responses or opinions shared. Míle buíochas.

Thanks Barry. That's a very useful article which I've used a bit already in my research.

However, at the moment I'm more interested in the attitudes of people towards creatine. Despite the legality of creatine it still remains highly controversial, both within and outside the GAA. I'd like to get a feel for how people on this forum feel about players using creatine; whether it is a positive or negative trend?

By the way I'm a player myself who has been following TotalGAACoach for a long time.
