At juvenile the basic game used to teach movement to the catch is jump the stream. this involves cones at about 2 M apart the player runs towards the stream , ball is thrown to have height mid stream , ball is caught by player who lands and continues the run.
also if players are standing they are unlikely to be jumping with one foot , which they should be. with knee driving up and out.
There is a reference for the skill by John Morrison , philip Kerr and Terence Mc Williams called "hands head feet" it's a classic and may be out of print but its a good one. a few other points about jumping are players need to be taught the knock down, they also need to be taught the turn in air . all of these skills would be expected of seniors Beir Bua
